The Republic of Cyprus is usually known as a major tourist region and the production of citrus, potatoes or drugs. But what fewer people know is that this country is present in the list of Guinness World Records because of wine.The origin of the wine is placed in civilizations of the Middle East
And that Commandaria, a sweet wine made with desserts, it was described by the Greek poet Hesiod in 800 B.C. This drink was served at the wedding of the famous King Richard I or Richard the Lionheart, who praised her as saying it was "a wine of kings and the king of wines".
Curiosities about this sweet wine perfectly sum up the history of wine. The origin of this product, dating from 8000 B.C. in the Middle East (where they began the first attempts to macerate the grapes), and its evolution throughout the different civilizations, merely highlight the importance that has had this product in our culture over the years.
