ATLANTIC WINES VS MEDITERRANEAN WINES
With a small, easy sorting we invite you to discover the great variety of Spanish wines depending on their geographical location. Therefore we will make a distinction between Atlantic and Mediterranean wines, we explain the main hallmarks of the wines of each area.

Atlantic Wines
These wines are found in diverse areas; from Galicia and the Cantabrian coast to the north of the island of Tenerife.
Due to the climate and more frequent rainfall, the maturation of the grapes is complex. Wines are generally of lower alcohol content than the Mediterranean. They are also cooler and a higher acidity. Finally, and generally, they are less complex and lighter mouth.
If we are a little more precise, we can make a second ranking:
Continental Atlantic climate wines: they can distinguish between the vineyards of Ribera del Duero, Toro, Rueda and Cigales, which mature in cool, moist climates with spring rains and days of intense heat.
Atlantic Mediterranean climate wines: they have the strange combination and influence of the two seas. Here are the wines of Jerez and Huelva, with its famous fortified wines of high alcohol content.
