BIODYNAMIC VITICULTURE
Biodynamic principles in viticulture apply both in the cultivation of the vine and the treatment then given harvest, and this form of wine production has become more popular mainly in wine regions of France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Chile, Canada and the United States, including several well-known and high quality brands.
Currently it is estimated that there are over 450 biodynamic wine producers worldwide. For a wine to be labeled as biodynamic it must be approved by the Demeter Association, internationally recognized.
The general principles of both viticulture and biodynamic agriculture generally are based on a philosophical / practical concept known as anthroposophy, coined by philosopher Rudolf Steiner, who tries to understand nature from the point of energy, ecological and spiritual sight.
