Viña Escarlata is a great red wine from winery Juvé y Camps made in D.O. Penedés. This is a single variety Merlot, planted at an altitude of 650 metres at the Mediona estate, an estate owned by the winery, with soils and an excellent climate for the optimum growing of this variety.
Aged:
This wine was aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels , 24 months in bottle.
Tasting Notes:
Color Pretty garnet colour with violet edges. Nose Complex aromas. Ripe plums, dry fruits, tobacco, toasted notes, balsamic and hints of toasted red pepper which give it sweet aromas like vanilla or cinnamon. Flavour On the mouth it is unctuous, fine and velvety. With ripe tannins and good acidity. Persistent finish with a presence of toasted notes.
